Well the way they acted has that kind of other tones.
 
plus Clover is male in the toys (then again Starswirl is female, plus its rare for modern plays to cross dress)

Seeing this again has made me think of something, if the play showed it being just the two of them going to find new land wan’t how it happened, and Clover was a guy and had a mind like Twi’s, I get the feeling at some point Platinum may have grown very attached to him and well…
