Honestly that seems to be a problem with redeemed mlp villains in general more often than not their crimes are disproportionate to their motives, lost a foalhood friend? Become an authoritarian cultist! Lost your horn and abandoned by your friends? Help a tyrannical conqueror enslave your own kind! Kind of makes it hard for me to feel any sympathy for them when they reform at least. Also I really hope they don’t redeem queen chrysalis the season six finale showed her trying to kill one of her “children” for trying to introduce a better lifestyle for their kind which is something that tyrants would do since they know it could prove a threat to their absolute power over their subjects.

There’s no proof that it works that way. It’s equally probable that the alternate timelines still exist as parallel universes, or that a change to the past simply results in the same people living different lives and alternate timelines just don’t happen.
 
Also, Starlight was blind to the true significance of her actions, She didn’t know how significant the Mane 6 were or what they’d done (how she remained ignorant of it once she left her village is a separate issue, but it’s unmistakably clear that she didn’t know). When confronted with the Ashlands timeline and forced to see what her changes were doing, she reacted first with shock, and then by completely going into denial; this was clearly not in her plan. (This, incidentally, is not the case with Tempest, whom everyone seems to have given a free pass despite her willingness to betray and enslave her entire species. Why is there no “Tempest gets what’s coming to her” art?)

I mean, those are just realities in the space of possibility. And she didn’t even do those things, either. She’s as responsible for those things as the admissions officer who rejected Hitler from art school is responsible for the holocaust and WWII.
 
That admissions officer played a key part that led to those events just as much as Starlight did, who just kept some friends from becoming friends.
 
And even if Starlight directly did those things, those were alternate reality Starlights, and those things literally didn’t happen - they just could have. Everyone could have been a murderer, too, but we don’t hold people responsible for the things they could have done or everyone would be guilty of a lot of things.
