But Hasbro doesn’t just have EQG anymore, they have the Disney Princess line as well, which they stole right out from under Mattel.

Selling well is all well and good, but there’s a difference between stealing a competitor’s market share and just selling well:
If you can explicitly steal your sales from another competitors market (The normal EQG toys stealing girls who would otherwise buy a monster high toy), then you harm your opponent while helping your own leverage.
Sometimes in business its not about just outright SUCCEEDING, but insuring that your enemy fails instead.
im sure they sell very well, but these things use a lot of plastic and are sold 2-3 times cheaper than the regular EG dolls, the profit margins must be razor thin for hasbro.

Thanks for reply :)
From all I’ve heard - they do these themselves.
I will say I always prefer Sunset with Equestrian Twilight over SciTwi. The ship with SciTwi is cute though.

Wit. I’ve heard the minis have been selling pretty well
Probably don’t have as big of a profit margin for hasbro though, so they probably dislike them compared to the normal ones.
Plus, they don’t evoke monster high, which was explicitly what hasbro was trying to rip off with the dolls to steal market share with.
The Sunset toy isn’t actually out yet, an eBay seller based in China got a hold of some early. I managed to snag one.
