Description

Might as well explain the joke here.

Scoota-bot = Robot. Robot = cannot blow. Therefore, Scoots cannot “clean” cartridges.

PS: Never blow on NES carts, you’ll ruin them.

I just made to to use the accurate NES that was on the Steam Workshop. Fun Fact: I use an NES as a faux mousepad on my bed while playing games on my laptop.

I don’t know, as I don’t have any WiiU N64 games yet, and I only have one Wii one I can upgrade.
I hear they included full digital scans of the original manuals though, like they did with GBA & DS VC games.

@Dirty Bit
Sense New3DS has SNES VC games now that would be cool.

Funny thing is, you can use Wii-motes with (some) SNES games on WiiU now. (Provided you customize them in the control VC options first. Hold down the 2 button when starting a SNES or GBA game on WiiU to be asked to do this.)

I already have SMRPG on my old Wii system.

…There’s an idea! Why don’t they work on porting Secret of Mana onto the 3DS eShop? Or any of the other popular rpg titles? (Breath of Fire, Lufia, Final Fantasy, etc.)

Speaking of VC games, have they improved N64 emulation through it? It was very speed-hack based, and even then, some games didn’t run at full speed, like Paper Mario.

To be fair, they finally rereleased “Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars” on WiiU VC/Eshop recently. (Though, a year after it got a Japan release, and after much much demand on Miiverse.)

Nintendo as well has kinda neglected the Virtual Console ever sense WiiWare & such started coming out. They finally brought TurboGrafx-16 games to WiiU VC, and Japan’s had them, and more sense 2013. (They even have a few on 3DS.) Granted, said console is sadly pretty niché in the States. (Shame ‘cause “Bonk’s Adventure,” “Bomberman ’94,” and such are awesome.)

I wish I was able to hold onto my old stuff better, but my family had a habit of donating any belongings of mine that they got tired of. Isn’t it the same for everyone?

Not everyone’s family tend to get rid of things they own without permission. Sounds like you had a rough upbringing, if that’s “normal” to you, no offense.

Though, my Mom did accidently sell some things of mine in a garage sale before, but that was ‘cause she thought I was trying to sell them.

@Dirty Bit
May be small, but it has an accurate full-sized NES controller (which can also be used in a Wii-mote for NES Virtual Console games.) and comes with 30 games. (At 60 bucks, that’s cheap.)

2 of the games “Final Fantasy 1,” and “Bubble Bobble” aren’t even out on WiiU’s or 3DS’s Virtual Console yet, I noticed. (Though, they’ve been out in Japan for both systems for years.)

I remember cleaning my cartridges with Q-tips too. I wish I was able to hold onto my old stuff better, but my family had a habit of donating any belongings of mine that they got tired of. Isn’t it the same for everyone?

That NES Classic edition is way smaller than the original isn’t it? Still it looks like it could be a lot of fun :D

It’s better to clean them with one of the old official cleaning kits, or using a slightly damp Q-tip, then drying it with the dry end of the Q-tip. That’s how I fixed all my old games. They have cleaning tutorials on Youtube too.

@Tragiclady
They kinda already are, if you take Nintendo’s “Virtual Console” as well as all the old-school compilation games into account.

Also, good news. The NES is sort’ve coming back.

Me too. If it weren’t for those, I wouldn’t have even gotten interested in gaming.

If I could go down to Gamestop or a shopping mall and find classic stuff like that, I’d actually visit those stores a lot more often.

I really miss the Nintendo consoles, the cartridges, and the box shaped (non flatscreen) tvs.

If there was a stable market for it, or if the companies could still turn a profit. I’d kind of like to see all these classic games and systems go up against modern games and systems and see what sells well.

Or sometime I could just order an older console and some games for it from Amazon. It can’t be too hard right? :o

It causes the pins to read games to wear off from corrosion over time. On the other hand, it works by giving some extra connection to the contact from the wet breath.

The only real reason the NES would not read games is because pushing the games down causes the pins to bend, thus, making it harder to get a proper contact.

I thought everyone blew into their Nintendo or Sega cartridges in order to make them work. It was kind of like a ritual, and it was impressive when it made the thing actually work.
