Makes sense. Though the contrast between the two vivid colors seems to pop out from the more subdued pastel pallete of pretty pony persons. I think if I was making a pony resembling an old red-white ship, I’d make his coat off-white and make him put on a red vest.
I think in this character’s case, the colour scheme represents something more along the lines of the old red/white sail pattern since his cutie mark is a map.
Yup-yup.
In fact I think I’ve seen this kind of mane on several food-related or edible OCs. Such is the power of free association.
