Yeesh. When a pony has a cutie mark portraying some objects, it’s almost always three of that object. For three bananas, there’s exactly four different ways of portraying their directions: three pointing forward; two forward, one backward; one forward, two backward; three pointing backward. So yes, it is entirely possible, if not probable, that whoever designed her character didn’t have some lewd hidden meaning in mind for her cutie mark.

yeah, I think everyone that makes the show has accepted the fact that some of the people in this fandom are pretty nasty so they probably left this one to see how quickly we would get it and give an (in)appropriate reaction.

The grouping and alignment of the bananas matches far too well. There are many other ways to design a banana cutie mark that would make this interpretation far fetched. By now they know the fandom well enough to see where this would be going.
 
This is probably the best someone thought they’d get away with in terms of placing sex jokes into MLP. And I like it.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that’s probably the exact and only reason. I somehow doubt the animators at DHX were working on background elements for this particular period piece and thought the best course of action would be a subtle reference to triple penetration.
