Your first paragraph is pedantic and 100% nonsensical. Its supposed to be a normal earth world on the surface otherwise we’d loose any context. Her instruments she invented herself as well. This paragraph is not worth commenting on at all further, I didn’t think you were desperate.
As Pinkie said and Twilight confirmed, it was EXACTLY that simple. Listen to the actual dialogue if you don’t believe me.
I could of said “paranoid and dependent enough that to her core being, down to Sombra’s greatest fear test, her greatest motivation is brown-nosing and pleasing Celestia’ but hyper dependent would of gotten the idea across for most people, people who wouldn’t just assume the most extreme type of hyper dependency. || This is a bit of a spoiler for phoenix wright, but I’m talking higher them Adrain Andrews hyper-dependency from Phoenix Wright, but less then a mental ward hyper dependent person. Perhaps mere dependency is a better term, but its not a big deal, the idea is conveyed to non pedantic people.||
(Pony Twilight is not, and has never been hyper-dependant. Actual dependancy goes a lot further than merely being deathly afraid of disappointing someone, and Twilight fixed her paranoia about disappointing Celestia in The Crystal Empire anyway. If Twilight was hyper dependant on anyone, she would be unable to do normal day to day life without their constant input and)
Three Words:
No Second Prances
Considering Twilight already had instruments that could detect Equestrian magic, she wasn’t starting from scratch. The Equestria Girls world isn’t our world, nor would that necessarily mean that working with magic is actually difficult for normal technology. For all we know, Equestrian magic might be detectable with a device anyone could buy, like a geiger counter.
All either of them said was that Twilight was going to use the book to open the portal. There were no specific details given of how she was doing it, but given what Twilight was talking about, it was a lot more complicated than “put the book’s magic in the mirror”.

Good night! :D
I’d say sorry that I hurt your feelings via your waifu, but you didn’t exactly say I was wrong either, just that you didn’t want to hear it. You DID say you liked Midnight Sparkle better afterall, and I doubt you thought someone as milquetoast as Pony Twilight would have a dark side more threatening then Midnight Sparkle. So if you simply didn’t want to hear bluntness about Twilight’s issues, I can understand.
Have a good sleep man. :)
Here we go again. G’night everbody! (Hits unsubscribe.)
Hence why I said “considering modern science knows zilch about equestrian magic”. Of course Sci Twi’s feat is more creative and impressive. She created magic-based technology from SCRATCH. Pony Twilight has used magic technology that has existed for years.
(on a side note, if you remember Twilight’s dialogue, she has no idea how to open the portal without the unknown energy relayed from Sunset’s message. The book itself was just a simple communication artifact until Sunset shot her message across dimensions. The device she created simply sends that energy into the portal. I’m not trying to underplay the device and Twilight’s achievement, but twilight(and pinkie) clearly explained it was just a simple energy relay system. She doesn’t have the magic or research yet to open the portal without the energy sent through the book)
Plus, Pony Twilight is hyper dependent and Sci Twi is not. Its not a surprise her spirit is less limited then her pony counter part.
She could already detect it just with the instruments she already had at the end of Rainbow Rocks, so making a device to analyze it would just be a natural extension of that. It’s not like she actually knew what she was doing when she made the device, since it was doing things she she didn’t intend at all. It’s still very impressive, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t think it wouls have been out of the ability of Pony Twi to do the same thing if in her situation.
We’ve also see Pony Twilight do incredible stuff regarding magic and technology; in about a minute, Twilight macguiver’d up a set of equipment that used a message-transferring book to override a magical artifact and create a portal between two dimensions, which is just as impressive.
Both Twilights are quite creative when it comes to inventing stuff (at least stuff related to magic), but are generally unimpressive in terms creativity in other contexts.

At the age of 16 or 17, she personally decided to create a device that would detect and contain magical anonalies similar to harmony magic, which has been used in the human world.
Considering modern science knows zilch about equestrian magic, I’d call that pretty damn smart and creative. Although admittedly, her awkwardness makes it not noticeable to those who don’t know her in the human world.
Not like SciTwi has shown notable creativity, either.
We’ve learned for a long time pony Twilight is so uncreative it hurts. Its only natural her evil side would still reflect that a little.
Sci Twi still has that vim and vigor for understanding the laws of the universe, unfettered by stress from pleasing Princess Celestia. Her dark side was always going to be more powerful and more dangerous.
A bit deluded, because how can you “teach them the errors of their ways” by making them dumber?
But yeah, still hot.

@Zharkaer
Yeah the last one is way too obvious.
