Twi puts Rainbow in time out for a joke… it gives her a good time to test out the wing boot.
It’s hilarious and you know it.
Dragon’s thing.
@Scrounge
But that’s not epic!
I’m pretty sure that’s bullying and not friendship. Why are you so fixated on hitting people?
If Dash is still annoyed about this in a couple days, all she’d need to say is this: “Hey, Pinkie! I need you to wake up Twilight for me tomorrow. At 5 AM. She’s a pretty deep sleeper, so make sure you’re really, really loud.”
Possible, but it still seems strange to me that she just accepted the punishment instead of trying to rip the person punishing apart… Well, she’s a good-aligned character anyway and goodies tend to do a lot of nonsensical stuff!
@Scrounge
Oh, they would - as long as they’re too scared to oppose!
@Scrounge
Maybe, but admitting to others that you can be mistaken is entirely different deal.
That’s a fairly big assumption. Think back to “Return of Harmony”, catching her and holding her still when she was discorded required a group effort.
This might not even be Twilight’s idea. Wheel boots are more of a city thing, meaning Rarity would be the one most likely to have seen them. And if I had to guess, the sign looks to be Pinkie’s doing: it’s on crooked and it has a little frowny face.
And even if it was all Twilight’s doing, there are plenty of reasons that Twilight could act of her own volition as an individual rather than an authority (and in those cases, Dash would be equally entitled to do the same were their places reversed).
Either way, Rainbow hardly seems like she’s being repressed or anything. At most, she seems mildly annoyed.
@Vaidelot
If you make it a habit of hitting your friends, they probably won’t be your friends for very long. Just saying.
@Vaidelot
We’ve all been wrong about things.
Well, Twi dishonoured Dash by daring to directly punish her (instead of bringing the matter to Friendship Council like in “28 pranks later”) so it would only be honest for Dash to gave Twilight some smacking. Just to remind her that she is, in fact, the first among the equals, not some absolute authority, and, therefore, can’t just punish the other council members at will. And of course apologising is dishonourable, since it implies that you could be actually wrong about something.
Wood is one thing, but these are usually made out of metal.
And whatever knocking Twilight out might accomplish, that still doesn’t mean it’s justified. Rainbow Dash represents loyalty, so I don’t think physically assaulting her friends would appeal to her.
Why would apologizing be dishonorable? (And Dash has just excused herself and/or just up and left plenty of times, with or without excuses.)
Nah, just excusing herself or apologising would be dishonourable. Dash is strong enough to rip apart thick wooden beams with her bare hooves (in “Lesson Zero), so I doubt this contraptions would stand long against her fury. And in the worst case she could just force Twilight to undo them (that’s why disabling and capturing her would be preferable to just running away).
If she recognized said device and assuming they don’t need to be unlocked by magic.
And if those things are anything like their real-world counterparts, Dash is not strong enough to break them because they’re made with that in mind. There was a show called “Parking Wars” a while back, and one of the things it showed was the people who put on and take off these things. Usually when someone tries to take it off on their own, they either just mess it up so it’s harder for the people whose job it is to remove, damage their car to varying degrees, or both. Those things were probably made for strong pegasi, and I doubt Dash would want to risk injuring her wings.
Not to mention that knocking Twilight unconscious seems like an overreaction, but maybe that’s just me.
If she really can’t stand waiting any more, the quickest way out would probably involve coming up with an excuse. “I gotta go check on Tank” or something like that.
Well, leaving would be much easir for her with Twi being knocked unconscious. And she could use watever instrumenst Twi has in castle to rip this contraptions apart… or just break them. Dash is strong enough for this.
Her flight speed is very fast. Her land speed is about on par with Applejack’s, IIRC. Still respectable, but far from astounding.
And if she’s trying to leave, she’s not necessarily going towards Twilight.
But even if you were right, it’d still be a bad idea. After all, she still needs to get out of those wing boots, and waiting for Twilight to remove them is probably a lot quicker and easier than trying to break free on her own. This isn’t exactly Hoofdini we’re talking about.
Provided she have time to react at all. Dash is VERY fast.
She can teleport, so distance may be less of a factor than you think.
Dash still has her lightning fast reflexes and strength. On such a short distance Twi’ll have no time to cast something really dangerous before being steamrolled.
Twi has ridiculous magic and Dash can’t use her wings ‘cause they’re booted.
Edited
Yeah, too many pranks
the princess can get Dash to do whatever she wants, since she is so magical.
