I personally think Zelda as an Alicorn would make more sense, considering whose blood flows in her veins.
Those were from magical items like I pointed out.
Granted, his sword spin attacks were given magic effects by the Great faries. (The ones that look like Cindi Lauper.) So he might have a li’l in them, but given by the faries, and such.
Still, I kinda prefer Link as an earth pony, with Zelda as a unicorn, seeing as she’s more of a magic user. Link’s more of an item user.
Which is the Link from Zelda 1. Hence why I referred to that Link as NES!Link. And don’t forget, The Hero of Time learns Din’s Fire, Farore’s Wind, and Nayru’s Love. Whereas the Hero of Light and Dark has Bombos, Quake, and Ether.
Well, most Links didn’t, or couldn’t. Or the only way they could was with an item/weapon that was magical like the Ocarina, and such. Didn’t mean they were magical themselves without them.
The only real magical Link I recall was in Zelda 2.

Zelda, if you ask me, though, would be an Alicorn. Not because of her royal status, but because of Hylia.
Agreed, maybe Ganondorf has some sort of artificial horn however.
