It’s really cute!

I’ve had cats that were as cuddly, loyal and affectionate as any dog I’ve ever had.

Probably something to do with the fact that dogs have been domesticated for tens of thousands of years, whereas cats are still not fully domesticated and fittingly to the way they tend to act, they basically semi-domesticated themselves by just sort of adopting themselves into our households by being cute, inquisitive and back when it was a much bigger deal, helped keep our homes and warehouses rodent-free.

I’m sure there are plenty of ways to bond with cats and get them to love you. For my money, though, I’ve personally had an easier time with dogs. Different strokes for different folks.

If you treat them right, all cats will love you eventually. I had this cat, Bob, and at first, he absolutely hated people touching him (made sense, apparently he was in an accident before his owners gave him to us?) A few years later and I was actually able to pet more than just his head! He’d even let me rub his belly.

Kinda unfair statement, as my family’s had many dogs & cats over the years, and they were all different, and all had their own personalities. Our cats were pretty friendly, but one kitten we had was so loving, he didn’t have a mean bone in his body, and pretty much loved every new human he met. So some cats can be just as loving & loyal as dogs. There have even been stories of cats saving peoples’ lives just like dogs have.
 
There’s always been cat-people, & dog-people, but I’ve never been either. I love both.

That’s why I prefer dogs. Once you own a dog, you learn that it will always love you.

It’s like being thrown into shark-infested water covered in chum. Once you own a cat, you learn the does and don’t quickly.

You must know a lot about cats.

A cat would only hiss as a sign of coming aggression, taken straight on. In this pose, a low belly growl would ward you off.
 
But I guess catpones are different.

My cats are usually pretty snuggly. Hell if one of them isn’t purring, then I get worried.
