my personal headcanon is that smoking is not a big thing in Equestria (you see literally nobody smoking in any of the episodes), so Vinyl wouldn’t really smoke, it’s not considered “cool” in Equestria

IMO I believe Vinyl would have smoked a fair amount until meeting Octavia, at which point Octavia motivated her to tone it down a lot.
