If they could they would actually still be **much** weaker than a human. The strenght you have relative to your weight is affected by your size. The smaller your size the greater your relative strength. Insects are only that strong because they are small and their biology wouldn't give them any strength if they were big. They wouldn't even be able to stand on their own legs.
