No one claimed is canon. Artists just wanted to stab Fluttermac hsippers since they still exist. Probably hoped they would finally stop this nonsense. But this ship just cannot die.

Eh. FlutterMac was a fanship, I’m not sure why people claim it’s canon because of Filli Vanili. Is it because of the hug? Go ahead, ship Rarishy as well. Is it because of them being shy? They never had a canon interaction whatsoever. But yeah, everyone has an opinion. :3

It’s also the most non-canon since they aren’t even close friends. At least Cheerilee and Marble Pie have actual character and relationship moments with Mac to form it. Mac’s never even shown with Fluttershy

This episode must have ruined their headcanons as well as give them a proper warning that their favourite ponies are not safe from shipping.

Yeah…if any of these mares got the poo end of the stick, it’s definitely Marble. Poor girl’s basically stuck right where she is.

Y’know, I’m kind of bummed out over the great big hole this ship put in the ol’ SS Fluttermac, but I knew in the back of my head that was never going to happen. Really, I’m more surprised any relationship came to pass in the show proper at all even if it was with a side characters.
 
If I feel bad for any of the girls, it’s Marble Pie. She and Big Mac were pretty obviously into each other in Hearthbreakers and her being so shy, I can’t imagine it’s easy for her to find ponies she likes, let alone properly express her interest in them. If the show wanted to be clever, we’d get a follow up episode at some point where Marble finds out about Big Mac and Sugar Belle’s relationship, and after realizing she could have had a future with Big Mac if she’d taken the initiative to at least stay in touch with him then uses knowledge to try to launch herself into the world reasoning she’ll just end up on the rock farm all by herself if she can’t find the courage to leave the comfort and safety of home. Well, something like that anyway. I’d just like the writers to remember that continuity and use the consequences for an actual story rather than just letting it slip into oblivion.

I’m curious how this will go in the weeks to come, considering last time they threw us a bone, I think, regarding Mac’s romantic interests (Marble) it stuck for a time before slowing down.

Eh, it isn’t a specific thing to just this fandom. Fandom drama’s a widespread thing, no matter if it’s anime girls or cute cartoon ponies.
