You should have just said that. Most people appear to only know of Abyssinians because of the Prequel comic. It evidently came up in earlier works and you’re calling me an ass for something that isn’t common knowledge.

They never said that Abyssinia was a cat kingdom, but in Discord’s glass of water song he mentioned “pastries from Abyssinia”.
 
And in the comics’ Ponies of Dark Water arc, the gang were returning from the Kingdom of Abyssinia (which is apparently “strangely litigious”) when they came across the magic pool of water.

Abbysinia has been canon since season 4

With the higher rate of connectivity the show and movie producers gave IDW, either Strife and Chummer will definitely be written out and relocated to a location not seen in the movie, or they were based on existing minor supporting casts or background characters. The latter applying more to the Abyssinian than the Umbran, a species initially created by IDW staff.
 
However, there’s also a small possibility the Umbran could one day appear outside of the comics, if Strife’s role is considered appealing enough by test groups and/or producers and other executives.
 
I suggest this because this situation invokes the question of why the shit a character of a comic-exclusive species would have such an important role in the backstories of a number of characters incorporated from a tie-in animation. Though, it’d not be too outstanding to imagine it stems from IDW’s tendency to write whatever the fuck they want. XD
