There’s also the first clone’s seeming inability to remember names properly (she called Applejack “Applesauce” and such). While Pinkie Prime (which is by itself an awesome term) has a deeply ingrained understanding of who her friends are, all a clone would know is “some pony I can have fun with”. It was a bit of a shame that they didn’t run with that as the test - “Which Pinkie can think about things beyond having fun?”

The idea that they’re cloned with a single track mindset meshes nicely with the kill spell Twilight found.
 
What of the pond was created as a way to mass clone an army? A pony unwilling to recruit normal soldiers likely had trust issues, so he made inferior clones of himself who had all his combat knowledge, but nothing that could lead to a betrayal. The spell Spike found (seemingly locked away) was a kill switch.
 
The fact Pinkie found the pound so easily fits with Celestia’s policy if just dumping defeated evil wherever.

I’m kinda glad they were cheap knockoffs and not perfect copies of the original. But if they were perfect copies, each one would have had the same identity crisis Pinkie Prime had and there would be a much different conflict.

I guess it was the mindset and purpose, Pinkie didn’t want to miss out the fun, so the word fun became the pinkie clones “mission” and when the clones, cloned themselves, they just had “fun” in their mind and it’s like giving a program to a robot, like stand guard on one place from threats and so on.
 
So the mindset of “having fun with friends” became the word used for the clones, perhaps?
 
That’s just, like my opinion now.

The behavior based on who their cloned, but are still cheap knockoffs, thing, that is.

Yep. That’s exactly what I think. just imagine what you’d get if Chrysalis or Celestia went through.

So, do you think the pond clones will always be stupid and irrational regardless of who is being clones and only resembled a cheap Pinkie knockoff by coincidence, or would their behavior be different based on who was cloned?
 
Twilight clones in constant “Lesson Zero” mode, Rainbow Dash clones being basically Gilda, etc…
