Starlight being a mere unicorn and able stand toe to toe with an alicorn like Twilight, is part if her appeal. Getting her wings would rob her of that appeal.
 
Being a Mary Sue is part of her appeal? How low our standards have fallen when fanfiction.net-tier characters get standing applause.

I love Starlight, but I don’t think she needs to be an alicorn. I personally like that she’s taking a different path than Twilight.

Yeah i see what you did there, you ran out of arguments, so you opted for repeating something i said in the desperate hope of insulting me because i have the ability to tell that Starlight has done nothing to deserve being a princess that at least 2 or more other characters havent. The only motivation you could have for wanting Starlight to be an alicorn would be being one of those annoying megafans that will literally applaud anything that gives starlight attention

Why? The show has been obnoxiously tight-lipped about what an ‘alicorn’ actually is, and no staff saying shit on Twitter doesn’t count as canon, and as such I don’t see the point.
