Also, clashes with her light coat in the show.
 
(That skin tone would be a much better match for Twilight, IMHO. Or Celestia; "reverse" skin colors would actually make sense on her and Luna, what with the Sun and Moon motifs.)


 
Conversely, Chrysalis, whom you'd _*expect_* to be dark (dark gray in the show and all) is a weird, orange-yellow somewhere between a bad fake tan and jaundice.
