Doesn't matter. Glimmer won the battle because she is willing to do anything to get what she wants. Twilight, even worried and angry as she is, doesn't want to kill. She wanted to save Glimmer, and if she could find a way, she'd do it, even at this late stage.

But here's the thing. Future Glimmer, which is actually present Glimmer, finally made a friend. She stopped scheming, she found her own path. Twilight lost all of those battles, but ultimately she saved even this Glimmer, just by being a good pony and setting a good example.

It's satisfying, in it's own way. No, it's not justice, but if Twilight wanted justice she would have stripped Glimmer of her magic and thrown her into Tartarus. What she wanted was what Glimmer did, after wasting so much time being resentful.

Glimmer can claim she won all she likes, she's wearing the mark of friendship on her face.
Reason: clarification
