What about an adaptation of Grant Morrison’s first Action Comics story line? The movie begins with Clark as Superman but without a costume and only dealing with low level crime. Luthor appears as a minor character to set him up for the next movie, but the main villain is Brainiac. Over the course of the movie Superman acquires his costume, develops his powers and becomes the hero we all know and love.
