The problem with OP’s logic is that most bullies think they’re the victims. They’re just really oversensetive about something. Like the people who yell at other people for liking ponies, they do it because they think liking ponies is a slight against them, and that gives them the privilege of responding “karmically” with “equal” bullying (which, of course, ends up not being equal).

This OP is the kind of guy that thinks the best way to raising your child is to throw them off a cliff and see if they survive.

Taking care of yourself is your responsibility. Fighting back is not. As an adult, it’s important to follow the rules, and do things the right way. If you win by breaking the rules, you still didn’t win: you cheated yourself out of a true victory and settled for something passing and ultimately empty. The girls did the right thing in this user’s opinion.

As a person who was bullied and then became a minor bully later on, I have to say that I hate this tough guy attitude that nigh everyone likes to use as a form of “standing up.” It doesn’t solve anything and all it does is just make your life unnecessarily dog-eat-dog.

Usually the person or group being bullied is afraid to tell anyone about it, which is what happened in the latest episode. The victim(s) suffers alone and they are usually not capable doing anything about it.  
Telling someone about your problems helps in the long run as it lightens your burden and you are more likely to gain some power to do something about it.
 
Fighting back against bullies with equal means is risky. You are more likely to start long chain of revenges than overpowering the bullies and making the docile.

Hitting back isn’t standing up for yourself.

I was bullied once.  
One day I had enough, grabbed the guy by the hair (he had this very grabbable medium-length hair) and smashed his head into the teacher’s desk like five times. In front of the whole class. Ain’t no-one fucked with me after that.

I think it would have been better, if she would have stuck to the CMC as it was time to do so. They were always friendly to her and she really had no reason to be a prick.  
Sure, she gets teased for being a blank flank back at home. But don’t the CMC get teased too?  
Don’t see them being pricks to Diamond Tiara and Silverspoon.  
The CMC offered Babs a spot among them, from the very start, and her being embarressed was just as uncalled for, as she was together with three other blankys, for crying out loud.  
So in the end, it was a good lesson to learn, to go to a grownup when being bullied, but still, it was a bit messy in the way of telling the story.

Every now and then you’ll get one who you can beat into total submission, but most off the time beating them just makes them ANGRIER.
