Objectively the fact that they deliberately used malicious magical manipulation on human adolescents for reasons apparently related to a hostile appropriation and potential enslavement of humanity and possibly Equestria and received no consequences for this other than the loss of their amulets and being outcast of society(something they may have been already,in which case then its just the loss of their amulets) concludes that for what they did they got off incredibly light. By all rights they should have been executed(or at least imprisoned) by some authority,Equestrian or Human as criminals,since clearly banishment did not stop or deter them from malignious activity.
Is it really the right thing to take these monsters "in" just cause they currently have the forms of cute girls,not allowing them into your New year party or house does not even come close to making you anywhere near as bad as them, as even the most "innocent" one(Sonata) eagerly and joyfully took part in actions meant to destroy human society and freewill on a potential global scale.
Honestly their lucky their not being vivisected in a government lab for being magical monsters from another dimension.
