It was definitely international they used the two most well-known pony voices. Though, Tara’s been in many cartoons prior.
I liked the episode, dunno what’s wrong with it.
Shame it wasn’t used in a better episode though.
Don’t be like that, Twilight & Pinkie actually do their voices. So it’s kinda a nod as much as it is a parody.
Some bronies actually are doing fanart of the Kelpies.
Some people get mad even if other shows reference it, so I get what you mean. Pony-haters ironically act as crazy as the overly-zealous fans they always preach against.
Probably the “subtle reference” angle; MLP still isn’t looked all that kindly on in some areas of the internet.
There’s drama over this? From who? People butthurt the show made a subtle MLP reference, or people assuming it’s an insult to MLP? (Or both?)

Surprisingly, Cartoon Network’s MAD (the TV series, not to be confused with the skit show “MAD TV” from the ‘90s/2000s) was pretty fair to the series with it’s parodies. They even had Tara Strong voice for them too.
