The source of the rocks is pretty unlikely to be yer typical adulteration (think plaster, clay, alum, chalk…). Bakers for hipsters and history wonks are more likely to use kale or quinoa or some stuff like that.

I remember reading somewhere that one of the issues with bread in Ye Olden Days was that, since the grains were hand-gound on stone, little flecks of stone and grit would inevitably get mixed into the flour and then the bread.
 
The main issue with that was that it was murder on the teeth (I mean, you’d effectively be chewing on sand), but assuming a high enough ground stone to ground wheat ratio in the bread…
