Name: Ambrosia Apple  
Nickname(s): Amber, Dotty  
Species/Gender: Earth Pony/Female  
Mark/Talent: An apple cut horizontally, with a five-pointed star inside, surrounded by five smaller stars. Represents apple farming, and her incredible magical strength.  
Personality: Shy and nervous. Is very insecure and a bit afraid of herself due to her large size and difficult to control magic. Tends to be very quiet and withdrawn, but also very kind and gentle.  
Important relationships:  
Big Macintosh (Father) - They are very close, and share a lot of interests. Often spends their time working together in companionable silence out on the fields.  
Sugar Belle (Mother) - Not as close as with her father, since Sugar Belle always tries to make her more outgoing and confident. Which ends up with Amber being well outside of her comfort zone; while probably somewhat necessary, it still puts a strain on their relationship. Amber prefers it when they are just baking together.  
Zap Apple (Cousin) - Also best friend. Zap is one of the few ponies Amber feels comforable speaking her mind to, and they spend a lot of free time together.
 
History:  
After Party Favor left Our Little Town to go travel the world with a strange cheese-themed pony, and Night Glider and Double Diamond had started dating, Sugar Belle felt a bit left out and decided to move all the way to Ponyville to be with her then boyfriend. After living there for a while and getting married, they, to no-one’s suprise, decided to have foal. Or foals; their plan was to aim somwhere around three. It just felt like a good number. But then she got pregnant with Ambrosia, who was, to say the least, a big baby. And on top of that, it seemed like everything that could go wrong, did go wrong; she wouldn’t turn, she got tangled up, her horn got caught, and so on. After she finally was born and declared healthy, Sugar grabbed Big Mac and in no uncertain terms told him that if he wanted more kids, they would either adopt or he would have to find a way to carry them himself.
 
Ambrosia didn’t grow up alone though, as her cousin Zap was born just two years later. And seeing as both families lives on Swet Apple Acres, albeit in different buidlings, they were raised a bit like siblings. Even though Zap was two years younger, the two of them got along very well.
 
Like most unicorn foals, Amber had magical surges whenever she felt strong emotions. However, she seemed to have inherited her father’s magial strength, which caused some problems. Where his earth pony magic made him incredibly physically strong, for her it resulted in surges that, among other things, ripped the roof of the barn, tipped the water tower and exploded an apple tree. Therefore, her parents didn’t feel comfortable sending her to a normal school until she could control her power. Instead she was partially home-schooled and partially taken in as Twilight Sparkle’s student. Twilight mainly taught her how to control her emotions and her magic. Only levitation though. She tried to learn other spells, but was unable to perform any one of them, even the most basic light spell. Still, her control improved greatly, ad she was able to go to a normal school for the last years of her eduaction.
 
She currenly lives at Sweet Apple Acres and works on the farm. Her magic dexterity is still very bad, so she while she can lift incredibly heavy stuff, she has a hard time doing fine tasks. For example, she has to use her mouth to write with, because she cannot control a pencil well enough to not pierce the paper or make letters that don’t take up half the page. Still, she can help out with apple-bucking and plowing and such just fine without magic, so she tries not to let it bother her.
 
 
Trivia:  
She is a bit paranoid that people are going to assume that she is male due to her large size, so she always wears her tail in a bow and often decorates her mane with flowers or small accessories.  
Despite her large size and muscular build, she is suprisingly weak. Of the three races, unicorns are physically the weakest, with pegasi having some magical assistance to their flying muscles, and earth pony magic almost revolving around physical strength. She is still stronger than an untrained pegasus or an earth pony with weak magic. But her cousin Zap, who is about one third her size, can easily lift twice the maximum weight Amber can carry.  
Often got mistaken for an adult as a teenager. Some of her classmates sometimes tried to convince her to buy alcohol for them, but she was way too much of a stickler to the rules to ever go along with it. That’s what happens when your aunt is the element of honesty and you used to have Twilight Sparkle as a teacher.  
She gets crushes really easily. But she has a tendency to imagine up scnearios in her head, and gets too high expectations about the person she’s crushing on. Luckily (?), she’s too shy to ever act on it, and gets over them before she manages the courage to confess.
