Description

I haven’t had much to show, since learning a bunch of new tools makes your actual output slow to almost nothing. However, I’m working on the 4 princesses dressed as Fantasy RPG style characters. The earlier picture of Cadance gave me the idea. The thing is, I’m doing basically all of it from scratch with blender+zbrush+substance painter, without kitbashing. It’s fun, and fulfilling… but oh my god kitbashing saves so much time!

“…without kitbashing.”
‘Kitbashing’? Sounds like it hurts…
Okay, corny jokes aside, I never heard of this kind of tech. How does this work?

Oh, that is a term for making something out of bits of other things, instead of totally from scratch. It comes from older movie model making, like how most of the little greebly bits on the Death Star or a Star Destroyer are actually parts from commercial plastic model kits, cut up and re-arranged. “Bashing” something together from kits.
