For what it’s worth: Ehh… She’s not really a likeable character. I doubt we were supposed to root for her in the first movie, so that actually falls a bit flat.

Yeah I also concur that while Rainbow Rocks turned her around, My Past Is Not Today is when the fandom really fell in love with her.

Eg1: damn she was an asshole but I kinda get why she did all this and her design is good and awwww shes crying. Alright redeem her and let’s see where it goes.
 
EG2: okay cool. No longer evil but still kinda on the fence trying to be good and while struggling she’s making progress. Awesome she gets some good ‘redemption’ by the end and I like her singing voice.

Eeeyup pretty much. What turned her into my favorite character was her solo song. That song means a whole lot to me.

The first movie is where most of the controversy comes. I thought she could be a better antagonist but I did like her a bit back then. But anyway, at this point I’m OK with she being pretty much the main character from EG.

EQ1: Emmm, OK, could be better but I guess she’s not half bad.  
EQ2: Very rarely I can say I feel bad for somebody, whenever is real or fictional, but damn I really feel bad for her.  
EQ3: She’s certainly more amazing than I thought.  
EQ4: OK, I definitely love this character.
