Description

Little Macintosh

The single most valuable fan tribute Ive ever made. This is a Colt (LOL) Anaconda revolver, six-inch barrel, chambered for the .44 Remington Magnum cartridge. I cleaned it up, lightly stoned the trigger, hand, and some small internals to give it a smooth, even trigger pull (still no Python, but better than any other Anaconda Ive shot, and Ive shot several), checked timing and cylinder gap, mounted a Leupold 2x EER scope on it with 3 fully-hardened stainless screws (to hold up under heavy loads), and hand-fitted these synthetic ivory grips (they were originally for a Python, required quite a bit of fitting to this much larger frame). The final touch was applying AJs mark to the grips. I still have the original blue plastic case and Colt-branded cardboard outer box and all parts that were removed for the modifications. Total value of the gun is around the $2k mark, and thats assuming I dont charge anything for my own time working on it.

It is very real, and more than powerful enough to drop any living creature on the North American continent with a single, well-placed shot. I enjoy shooting Buffalo Bore 340gr. hard cast loads, theyre about as powerful as you can get in this caliber without blowing your gun up (and they WILL blow up many guns including the popular Smith & Wesson model 29 and 629 models, but I checked with the gentleman who came up with the load and he assured me an Anaconda is plenty beefy enough to take it). This gun with those rounds is more powerful than many off-the-shelf factory loads for the .454 Casull.

I do have a nice leather holster and gunbelt for it, I didnt bother photographing them though. I may do so later. Both are made by the Hunter Holster Company, the holster covers the scope to protect it and the belt holds 25 rounds.
