General Bio:

If you were to meet Pinetree, you’d probably think he was the sweetest, most good-natured colt you have ever known. Now, while you wouldn’t be wrong, Pinetree is a kind soul when he wants to be, but he’s not quite as innocent and pure as he appears. Actually, Pinetree is known to be one of the most mischievous pranksters in the all of Ponyville. He’ll even use his charisma at times to subtlety manipulate others and is skilled enough that most of his victims don’t even know they’ve been taken advantage of. Before you gasp in horror at this dastardly plot twist, be assured that Pinetree really is a good pony deep down, and while he will use every trick up his sleeve t get what he wants, he never does it at the harm of others (and more than often when he does, it backfires on him). If a pony ever gets hurt because of him, Pinetree feels extremely guilty and goes out of his way to make things right.
Although he can be a little sneak at times, Pinetree isn’t all bad; he’s just a kid at heart- a kid that loves having fun and doesn’t understand the boundaries of a practical joke. He’s a slow learner, but at least he’s trying to do better (which is tougher than it looks)

Aside from being known as a troublemaker, Pinetree has miraculously managed to earn the reputation of being a pretty great guy. Most ponies chalk it up to his outgoing, chipper nature, which makes it easy for him to talk to others, who in turn find him just as equally charming and pleasant. Pinetree can also be a thoughtful, considerate guy when he wants to, and not all of his smooth-talking and compliments is empty flattery. And anyone who knows PT knows that where ever he’s at, that’s where the fun will be, and he spends a great deal of time hanging out with his friends, down for anything and everything! But as social as the colt is, Pinetree actually finds greater pleasure hanging out alone in nature where he can roam freely and explore all mother nature has to offer. Ever since he was a foal, PT could often be found at the crack of dawn listening to the early birds and curiously poking his muzzle into every tree and burrow. As a result of spending a lot of time in the great outdoors, most of Pinetree’s hobbies are outside-related, such as going on hikes, collecting and identifying plants and herbs, and his all-time favorite: camping! The only out-of-doors activity that PT doesn’t like ( and has come to loathe) is bird watching. The last thing he wants to do is sit stock still and silently wait for the birds to come; he much rather find them himself.

Relationships:

Twilight:

Since Pinetree is technically the baby of the family, Twilight is prone to spoil, coddle, and, well, basically baby him. Pinetree, of course, adores it, but would never admit to it in front of anypony and Twi’s doting is met with plenty of pecks on the cheek, hoof-made gifts, sweet gestures, and burnt breakfasts in bed. But despite the sweet bond Pinetree has with his mother, he’s gotten on her bad side plenty of times, especially when it comes to, you guessed it, pranking. For all her babying, Twilight doesn’t hesitate to scold, lecture, or punish PT when he gets into mischief. Often Pinetree responds with sulky submission until it blows over, or he’ll use his big, wet, puppy eyes to ̶d̶i̶s̶a̶r̶m̶ ̶T̶w̶i̶l̶i̶g̶h̶t̶’̶s̶ ̶g̶a̶u̶r̶d̶ soften Twilight’s stern attitude. But on occasion, he’ll actually feel guilty about what he did and want to change. Turns out it’s a lot harder than it sounds, but at least he’s trying. Despite the messes Pinetree’s shenanigans make for Twilight, she’s still proud of her outgoing son and encourages him to put his talents to better use. When Pinetree isn’t causing trouble, he and Twilight enjoy going on nature walks, baking a pancake breakfast for everyone, and gushing over the latest Daring Do together.

Timber:

It’s no secret where PT got his fascination with nature from, and because of this, Timber connects the most with Pinetree. He is rather pleased by his son’s enthusiasm for nature and the two like to spend a lot of time together exploring the vast forests, gorges, and meadows around town, during which Timber likes to pass on to PT the little secrets that he learned growing up. As he got older, Pinetree was a natural when it came to smooth talking the ladies, which is no surprise when you learn that he had a great teacher. While Timber doesn’t necessarily condone his son’s bad pranking habits, he is secretly impressed by Pinetree’s ingenuity and can appreciate his kind of humor. Since Timber’s a coach, it’s only natural that PT looks up to his Dad as his role model, that he’d want to get into some kind of sport. So Timber took charge of his son’s athletic career and helped him pursue any sport he wanted. The two are also pretty competitive and enjoy entering into all sorts of competitions together, from kayaking to theater!

Eclipse:

As different as these two twins are, Eclipse is Pinetree’s other half, and when they are together they make an excellent team. Especially when it comes to their pranking sprees. Pinetree is often the spark for their mischief and usually picks the targets, but he relies heavily on Eclipse’s resourcefulness and clever wits to make the prank become a success. However, it’s usually PT that get’s the credit and Eclipse who receives the blame. This may seem callous of PT, but when it comes down to it, he can be pretty considerate of his introverted twin, especial when it comes to social events. Pinetree is more than willing to do all the talking for him, and is often called on to cover for him in a sticky situation or in diverting unwanted attention. Because Pinetree looks up to Eclipse, he’s the one PT typically trusts to tell his darkest secrets and silliest thoughts too, along with a few corny jokes thrown in the mix. The Double Trouble Duo do quite a lot together (no surprise there), but Pinetree’s favorite thing to do with Eclipse (aside from pranking ) is to take his recluse of a brother into the great outdoors! Eclipse doesn’t necessarily like these ventures, but he enjoys seeing his twin getting excited in his natural environment- even if it sometimes ends in an angry bug bear chase or the occasional beehive incident.

Pansy:

Pinetree and Pansy have many common interests, from a fascination with flora and fauna, to a love of ancient lore and peanut butter cucumber sandwichs. Pansy is very motherly when it comes to dealing with PT, whether she’s ̶b̶a̶b̶y̶i̶n̶g̶ nurturing and caring for him or lecturing him over his inappropriate behavior, earnestly telling him ‘I know you’re better than this’. But even though Pansy is prone to scolding him like Twilight, Pinetree knows it doesn’t take more than a few sniffs and droopy puppy eyes to melt her stern glare like butter. Pansy is also such a ̶d̶o̶o̶r̶m̶a̶t̶ sweetheart that Pinetree is all too quick to take advantage of her kindness, especially when it comes to getting out of trouble. But it’s not all one-sided. PT truly does adores Pansy, as he looks up to her as being the kind angel that she is and will do practically anything she asks of him ( out of love, of course, and not at all related to the white chocolate macadamia nut cookies Pansy bribed him with). However, Pansy isn’t always the one looking after Pinetree, Despite Pansy being much older and always looking after him Pinetree feels a sorta protectiveness of his big sis, and although he’ll call her out on being a pushover, he won’t hesitate to bring it down on anyone who treats her like one.

Special:

  • Unlike his brother’s average magic skills, Pinetree is quite proficient when it comes to spell casting. Not that he does anything really productive with it. He mainly uses it for his pranks or occasional magic duels with his mother.

  • Pinetree may look a bit lanky, but he’s relatively strong due to being an athlete. That’s right, Pinetree was athletic as a kid. He mostly played Track, Cross Country, and Soccer, but he enjoys an occasional game of hoof ball. He’s a pretty active kid with a lot of energy to burn. Plus, it keeps him out of mischief for a while.

  • Pinetree isn’t big on books unless they have thrilling stories or cool facts about nature. Math and science bore him to his core. Lectures too. And don’t even get me started on politics.

  • When PT was about 12, he started to take an interest in herbs and potions. Consequently, he was soon taken as an apprentice of Zecora, who taught him all she knew, with the condition that he wouldn’t use any potions for any pranks. He doesn’t…..mostly.

  • Pinetree’s favorite ponies to prank is his Uncle Spike, Cousin Flurry heart, Dusty (he’s an easy one), and occasional the Canterlot delegates who visit for special dinners.
