Thank you
Anon: “Look at yourself!”
Sunset: “I took over the school and turned everyone into zombie”
Starlight: “I brainwashed an entire village and stole their cutie mark.”
Translation at the source.
No one ever accused Starlight OR pony Twilight of being the most mentally stable or mature role models.

You do know Twilight abuses her own powers even now, right?
Just annoyed.
Well, Sunset doesn’t care about her past since Friendship Games
Besides, she shouldn’t care. Like she used to say, My past is not today
What is more is that she is the first antagonist who surrendered willingly.
The thing is, Starlight only affected the mane 6 (it’s also notable that she was willing to take any punishment afterwards), her village and no one else, and well, they forgave her. It would have been interesting to see a few of her old village resent her though, I hope we can see something similar before the show ends. On the other side Sunset was awful to everyone in the school, so of course ALL of the people there would hate/mistrust her after what she tried to do with them, it’s natural she had to live with that since that school was the setting for EQG and Sunset, while Starlight was offered to stay at Ponyville with Twilight where no one knew her, it was sort of a new beginning.
@CronoM
Your own mind can become the greatest enemy, I know from experience. Both internal and external strifes were good ways to convey the emotions of regret we saw in Starlight and Sunset, and they both suffered enough from these. I’m not against the concept of either of them still getting some sort of backlash in the future though.
I also think it was refreshing that Starlight had to get over her bad habits in a series of episodes instead of suddenly becoming nice with the help of a rainbow laser.
Where are these MANY Starlight fans you speak of? it feels like you’re just making up stuff with sentences like this.
No external strife from her surroundings, barely tries and often seeks easy solutions and doesn’t feel sorry enough to not try old bad solutions, and never feels pressured beyond slight faux pas social awkwardness.
Riiight, she’s suffered enough. She’s a special little snowflake after all /s
I haven’t read something so craptastic and nonsensical in a while. Even many Starlight fans acknoledge she’s a Creator’s Pet. And no, one doesn’t need to be vindictive to expect to see an iota of karmic backlash from villainy. Little kids NEED to be reprimanded for doing bad things or they’ll never learn, and with her weak backstory, she really is an adult with a little kid’s level of responsibility.

She felt bad enough through the whole season.
There is no need to make her suffer even more.
Exactly…except not at all for Starlight. She gets the benefit of the doubt at the beginning of all her endeavors since episode 1 of S6, which half the time she barely tries to not screw it up or respect her peers, and according to Pinkie in Starlight/Maud’s episode, they actively keep her villainous past hush hush, while Sunset had to live with hundreds of angry students for months before things improved, and a crazy shut-in reopening the wounds.
What hack came up with the idea that one can “experiance” being a pariah without any of the actual negative experiances? (Take that sign off, Starlight, everyone just ignores it)
Wait, stupid question, they came up with the name “Starlight Glimmer”. That is never not gonna be ‘so uncreative its hilarious’.
Is it the Worf effect? They’ve never been been given a reputation as fighters to tarnish in the first place. Cadance least of all.
She redeemed herself by being willing to sacrifice herself for the Mane 6.
I know, right?
At least this artist took the time to draw something instead of just pasting text on a screencap. I wish this was at least the minimum effort allowed for this sort of expression.
I’m definitely not going to forgive that mare for petrifying my wife anytime soon, no matter how sexy her singing voice. Though really, it was the writers’ fault for throwing the princesses under the Worf Effect.
And she’s a repeat offender. Twilight learned her lesson after the Smarty Pants incident.
Starlight still resorts to brainwashing and other unethical magic to solve problems. Including swapping my wife’s cutiemark. Celestia and Luna might have said they needed it, but I will not quickly forgive her for violating my Luna like that.
I know she’s a good pony now, but still…
