Description

I couldn’t find any art of an anthropomorphized Yona Yak online. As one of the better members of the Young Six/Student Six I felt this needed to be fixed.

I felt given Yona’s massive bulks body, and how it plays into her character with her clumsiness, ungainliness, and her love of smashing, that a normal teenage girl’s body wouldn’t work for her as well as it would Ocellus or Silverstreem. Ponies, griffons and changelings in the show have basically humanoid bodies that are just made to walk on all fours. Look at any scene in the show where a character stands on their hind-legs and you’ll see what I mean. Yaks on the other-hand and are extra creature-like. So some thinking out of box was needed.
I enlisted the help of the magnificent full to help design Yona’s anthro form. To give it the weight and bulkiness I felt it needed while still keeping her the same adorable boisterous yak girl.
When Professor Rainbow Dash decided that Karate for this semester it sounded simple enough. Even if he hadn’t understood the point of a Friendship School, the racist Chancellor Neighsay might have been onto something when he said that the students should learn to protect themselves (And each-other) And Nopony knew better than Rainbow Dash how protecting and being protected by your friends could strengthen your friendships.
</span> It didn’t take the Rainbow mare long to turn the school gym into a dojo. She even had a series of six concrete tiles placed on four cinder blocks to demonstrate how with training even a smaller creature could perform feats of great strength. Chopping them all in half in one lightning fast motion would really impress the kids.
</span>But just as the lesson was about to start there Rainbow was called away to the art block. There was some kind of emergency. Professor Rarity had run out of buttons, or textiles or fainting couches or was on fire or something. Dash told the students to stay in the gym and maybe try out the new equipment while she went to help out.
</span>The students split off into groups and started to experiment with the martial arts gear playfully. Gallus and Sandbar started competing to see who could punch over the free standing punching bag first.

</span>Yona noticed the concrete slabs on the cinder-blocks. She knew what it meant and the idea of testing her strength exited her. She cantered over to the blocks and eagerly raised her hand up. She steadied herself. Legs apart. And she brought the edge of her palm down hard! There was a crack! And the six concrete slabs split neatly down the middle and slid together, making a V shape. A large pile of grey dust pooled on the floor between the cinder blocks.

</span>The other students gathered around her. Whooping and clapping, complimenting her on her strength and power. Yona felt great. She had done the yak people proud. She couldn’t wait to see how Professor blue pony would react to her amazing feat…

Actually, kinda suits her. And yeah, there aren’t many anthro’ versions of the non-pony characters. (Besides, Spike, Gilda, and Ember.)
