Husk ponies will often assist normal workers in transporting the queens eggs into breeding chambers, where those are placed into cocoons to grow into full-size changelings.
(again just using velvet to illustrate the point because i dont feel like coming up with entirely new ponies for this. plus its fun to play with the concept of deterioration.)
