It was Au Jus’ turned for his redo sketch to be finished up! I felt he looked a little too close to Papa Cheese, so he got some tweaks. His hair has more red tones to the brown now, as well as his eyes being changed from green to blue. I also added some brown freckles to his face and rump because why not?

Outwardly, Au Jus is the picture of the perfect host, charming, witty, and hospitable. However, this is more a less a front, groomed by many years in the food and hospitality service. Like his mother, he does have a knack for planning and hosting parties, though his true talent lies in his culinary forrays. Au Jus likes to spend time with small groups of ponies, rather than the large, rambunctious ones that populate his workplace, and much enjoys cooking for them and discussing various dishes and food pairings. The only other place to get Au’s food experiments, aside from his table is at the pub where he cooks and serves, owned by Stout Pout, daughter of Applejack and Troubleshoes.
 
From his natural ease, both at work with other ponies and in the kitchen, one would be hard pressed to know that Au Jus is near legally blind, save for the fact his eyes are often closed or have a milky hint to them when open. Luckily for him, Au Jus inherited a variety of his mother’s ‘Pinkie Sense’ that allows him to function like any other pony might. Being close to blind does have its downsides, however, and Au Jus is quite sensitive to negative smells or sounds, those particularly screechy, harsh, or sharp. He despises poorly cooked food and an ill cooked dish can sense the stallion on a tangent.
 
Au Jus’ choice of career, as well as his small get togethers, are actually quite important to Au Jus as he becomes very lethargic and almost depressive if kept from contact with others for long periods of time. It is likely being raised in such a boisterous and social family is what caused him to be so sensitive to lack of contact. Fortunately, Au Jus almost always has a friend to spend time with in Stout Pout.
