And as you may guess, Ahuizotl is a cat dog hybrid. Though, Tlaloc have some form of birth defect (in aztec mythology, Tlaloc is said to be described as being hideous) which is the reason why Ahuizotl (Who is named: Tlalocan) has his eyes where his nose should be, and has a pink nose and have a bit of a mixure of canine and feline besides his ape characteristics. Chalchuhtli is a beautifully elegant creature which is also who Tlaloc’s wife was described in the mythology.
 
Ahuizotl lost the war against Celestia and Luna by having Tlaloc and Chalchuhtli cursed by Erabus which makes their personalities violent and evil, went into hiding, and Xolotl, who was the leader of a Diamond Dog mining facility which is close to the underworld in an unknown mountain, gave Ahuizotl his golden necklace which is suppose to keep his age in a permament suspension when worn.
 
I also remember having Xolotl having a companian named: Camazotz who is a translator for him as I purposely never wanted him to speak.
 
I try to mix in of aztec mythology within the ideas that is appropriate in the show. I remember that I idealized that the Ahuizotls have deadly magic obsidian mirror-like shields that absorbs magic and empowers them in combat. THe other idea that I have is the crossbreeding/race mixing cats and dogs, and they have the ability to mimic and change their voices to their victims. (based on the myths that the legendary creature can mimic a wailing baby) and as stated before, the aztec sacrafice thing is that they consent of souls being use to power up the Timochinti (Sapphire Statue) which basically makes it their own version of the Elements of Harmony.

I guess… though, I didn’t started with him for a few years, when Daring Don’t came out, I was thinking of ideas that I want to associate with Ahuizotl; who was a creature based on my own latin heritage’s ancient mythology. I have a lot of ideas associated with the character before I got with Arabus.
 
One idea was that there was a tribe/empire of Ahuizotl’s who are sinisterly warlike, and his parents (Tlaloc and Chalchuhitli) are evil beasts who raged war with Celestia and Luna and banished to Tartarus. But I felt that was way too rudimentary at the time, as well as having Ahuizotl lose all of his magic to the Sapphire Statue which is later given away by some aztec pony tribe. Though, he still has his immortality, this was idea was later retconed thanks to the book, Daring Do and the Eternal Flower.
 
I try to have different races like a griffin based off of Huitzilopotchli, in my early vision he was half jaguar and half hummingbird, but later on I made him into a full hummingbird. Other ideas would include Ozomatli, and Tochtli who later would become Metzli. And an idea of an underwater Texcoco tribe that is filled with Axolotls.
 
I later on trying my best to look at the aztec pantheon and I found a trustworthy website article and different accounts of the gods and goddesses to merge with the show’s motifs.
 
Of course, with those accounts, I try to lay some connections to which animals the gods are associated in my canon.

One of the other ideas that I had in mind was to have a character named Caiman who was a young Axolotl creature who befriended a young Ahuizotl, he’s later scrapped because he’s simply went nowhere and doesn’t have no such significance to me. However, he was later replaced by the Ahuizotl commander, Netlamatchti, who, is basically what Derek Vinyard is to Danny Vinyard in American X, minus the redemption of hatred.
 
The Sapphire Statue (Real name: Timochinti) plays a role in my idea where it is empowered by the volunteered souls that were sacrificed when they lose. I try not to have the infamous aztec sacrafice a thing in this idea, as it would be way too graphic for a show about rainbow sunshine candy colored horses of course. The artifact was said to banish the Tzitmitli Queen Itzapapolt and her spawn into the cosmos.
 
This battle cost the leaderships’ souls to powerup the artifact minus Tlaloc and Chalchuihtli, who are now the current leaders of the Tenochtitlan Basin. And because of this, the other denizens of the coyote, rabbit, hummingsbird and the jaguar races started to abandoning their cities.
 
This all came to an end due to the ponies’ colonialism as well as Erabus destroying the civilization hoping not to be tainted* by influences of ponies.
 
And yes, they’re the native americans in my canon.

Being named after a god of darkness, him being the ruler of Tartarus seems fitting enough.

I want Erabus to be a nobody that no other villain/protagonist knows about and lays hiding much like how it happened in G1. Other ideas I have him is that he’s the ruler of Tartarus, and sees every event in the history of equestria and other kingdoms. The reasoning behind his villainy was because ponykind/hoof creatures themselves are irredeemable/corrupted and too populated, and many creatures gone extinct lay waste because of them and living in impoverish territories. And tries to make a worldly peace with ponies governing their lands but harshly and braggishly reject his offer.

He’s the “Bigger Bad” in my idea. Like I said, he lives in the planet’s BC-esque era where a race of creatures just like him being more humanoid shape than animal/pony-shaped. And, the entire planet was covered in a gassy grey fog and some form of red substance that took up much of the oceanic layer and some mystical comet is what gave the race’s sentient.
 
The creatures (Gyaigorians [GAI GORE E INS]) uses shadows and uses them as “constructs” to form anything via thought. Eventually, they populated the planet and there were two factions. A race of scientists, (Fomalhauts) and Spellcasters who don’t partake in science (Casters) who had some form of peace treaty. The casters created enchanted text that would cause madness within the user, and strange red authentic quartz that are used as power sources for the Fomalhauts machines.
 
They warred against cosmic invaders during their lifetime, and tame many dinosaurs and use them as some slave race.
 
It all came into extinction when both factions warred each other, and lead the races’ destruction.
 
A young juvenile Erebus was place in some kind of escape pod that fortified itself from a horrific bomb that destroyed most of the environment of the planet, and it somehow created an ice age.
 
Though, I did try to have Erabus “commanders” at one point who are in control of south equestria but got shanked due to the movie where Storm king rules most of the south.
 
I also have technologically advanced black imp creatures called: T.H.E.M (Terror Heist Equine Maulars) who does Erabus’ working of gathering cutie marks, but I drop that idea because it was way too much.
 
And Knightshade plays a big role in my idea where he’s a Flutterpony who is now old and cursed by Rosedust due to his betrayal by working with Erabus. Now, he’s an extreme pessimist and cynic who wants nothing to do with ponykind’a sins. I kinda putting him off in and out much like Zeb. Until I finally made Zeb into a spawn.
 
The only thing that I try to make him… more in tune with his G1 self is that the creatures steal shadows through their own physiologic abilities. However, they don’t consume them. But when the technology came in, they use satchels and business bags to steal shadows. The creatures in my idea have full sustenance, and can easily adapt their knowledge into anything.
 
And instead of Magic/Shadows, Erebus uses cutie marks for his sinister purpose.

So Grogar would’ve used Erebus and Squirk as pawns? I can kinda see it, though I’ve always pictured Erebus as one of the more cunning G1 baddies, using Night Shade’s concerts to get large quantities of shadows and potentially inventing that advanced device that sucks them up (though seeing how this Erebus doesn’t require technology to do that sort of thing we can scratch his high intellect off the list of things in his favor).

Well… there’s a thing that happened when I watched the first of the last 2 episode of Season 9.
 
Squirk in my idea would be used as a distraction of the main 6 in this story idea that I had and works for Erabus. He lured them in when he kidnapped Captain Caleno’s sister. (who is Pluma in this tale) and Erabus kidnapped the Princesses Celestia and Luna and used them for bait as well.
 
As for the sirens, that idea wasn’t fully developed, but I guess the krakens and the sirens once had magical jewels embedded in them. However, much like the Sirens, the jewel is infused with them. But giving the idea of Ending of the End, I guess the idea is that it can be defused from his body.

Interesting. This version of Erebus might get along with Charlatan, who was also a bit of a genocidal maniac, believing his kind to be the strongest and most worthy and whatnot. That’d be an interesting dynamic, considering Charlatan has a son and Erebus showed no qualms about hindering the lives of children in the G1 cartoon.
 
What’s your story with Squirk, since he’s among the most ancient villains in G1 (ironic given the animal that he is, and the small lifespan that those have), being mentioned to have been around for “twenty hundred years or more”? I saw a piece of yours with Squirk, Crank and the Siren Trio.

To answer your question, technically the idea I have with him is that he harvest cutie marks and uses them for a sinister purpose to feed extremely powerful deadly beasts, which is my finalized idea. The pony/zebra on the right is Zeb who in my version is a spawn of Arabus.
 
Other ideas that I have him include being born in the planet’s primordial years, having a large connection with Discord, Ahuizotl, as well as Starlight, as well as being an extremely megalomaniacal racist who have a deep hatred for ponies for being so corrupted and wants to lay waste to them due to “plaguing” the planet, in other words, wanting to create a genocide that obliterate ponies other any creature that even resembles a pony.

It’s a neat design, though personally, I’d drop the horns. It’s not like they’re too much but you don’t need horns to create an intimidating villain.
