Description

Well, Oak wanted me to make Dazzle Cake — the Playful Pony version of Mrs Cake — into a separate pony, but I just couldn’t do it. However, I did do this.

The mare on the left is Party Cake. Headcanoning up ahead: Party Cake is Mrs Cake’s mom. ‘Dazzle’ Cake is from when Mrs Cake was a rebellious late-teen-to-early-adult in the poorly-defined 80s chic era of Friendship is Magic. She wanted a more outrageous name and a less formal hairdo (not that her mane would oblige her on that).

’Dazzle’ Cake wasn’t really into cakes at this point and was more into popular stuff — dancing, music, fashion. Baking cakes wasn’t popular; it was a mom thing. So she was trying to be successful in popular things instead, but to no avail. She didn’t understand her talent.

Party Cake, however, knew her daughter would have picked up some cooking knowledge through plain intellectual osmosis. So, one day, she cancelled ’Dazzle’s’ plans with her friends and kept her in so she could help her bake a batch of cakes.

While trying to keep ’Dazzle’ interested — which she was not in any way — Party Cake started ignoring the cakes and spent her time simply trying to reign ’Dazzle’ in. The cakes started to become wrecked. That was when ’Dazzle’ took notice and suddenly burst into action, immediately correcting her mother’s (deliberate) mistake at blistering speed, salvaging the cakes and not only making them look good, but making them taste good too.

A trio of cupcakes appeared on ’Dazzle’s’ side, much to her surprise.

Even Party Cake didn’t expect that!
