I remember some people even force that this season the cyst was so has we could use the character. Which ignores 3 things the first was obvious.even if button was Jan’s OC most likely he was not have copyright of the character intercourse sending a cease and desist does not give you the rights to a character

I didn’t just mean his personality I mean some people thought he was a 100% fan made and not a background character from the show. I remember some people even asked Jan if he was involved with slice of life multiple times
Yeah, or some didn’t like the fanon depictions of him. Like Janimations, which while good, kinda gave him a annoying voice.
Though, “Don’t mine at night” was pretty good.

To be fair to Rumble, that was mostly due to him having the wrong idea behind Cutie Marks (plus, it was in a single episode, since the only time we had Rumble in a speaking role was back in Hurricane Fluttershy).
Maybe some just got sick of him as he used to be popular.
It’s also kinda ironic, because those that hate him try to push “Rumble” instead as a “better alternative character,” or as a better ’ship for Sweetie, even though as I pointed he was actually kinda bratty, stuffy, and even rude/nasty to the CMC, including Sweetie in canon.
Yup, it really doesn’t make a lot of sense.
Yeah, I don’t get why Button gets so much hate lately.
I’d say it’s partly to blame because of one person, prior to the Marks and Recreation episode, kind of shoving the pairing down people’s throats while bashing both SweetieMash and Rumbaloo in the same breath.
But yeah, it kind of seems a little unfair to Button, since he’s a background character that really didn’t get a personality.

Well, he doesn’t have a canon personality, so it doesn’t matter really.
Frankly, I’m more baffled by the popularity of “Rumbelle,” considering Rumble was kinda a snot to the CMC.
They also seem to like depicting him as a well-adjusted, caring stallion…but I seriously think he’d be a bit more out-of-shape, and much more of a ‘me-me-me’ type of personality than the fanshippers make him out to be.
The character to me just looked like he wasn’t ‘mature’ enough to even be boyfriend material.
As well as the old “Ask The Crusaders” tumblr.
