For Day 2 we have a mobile pony / a pony showing off his moves. The word “mobile” always makes me think of motor homes, so maybe an AU where ponies have cars and instead of a wagon Trixie tours Equestria in an old Winnebago? My great grandfather once had a camper like this one, and I always liked the funky front end and the big old W on the side, so I based it on that. I’m not sure why but I decided to draw Trixie and Starlight in some warmer clothes–maybe they’re stopping someplace where the weather’s a bit chilly, or it’s getting toward autumn? I wish Starlight looked a little less like an alien here, but overall I’m satisfied with this one.
With the few believe to miss having a 1970’s Winnebago when one wish list if they could get their hands on one could easily discover the potential of a LS swap when after the swap they could easily discover with the LS paired with a 4L80E four speed automatic could get fuel economy unheard of the 440 and 727 torqflight automatic the Winnebago had left the factory with.
I have a 73 Ford B500 Bluebird bus, great unit, and a 63 Ford motorhome I am building up! The nice thing is I have no worries about wood rot like a lot of other RV’s.
They can require a fair bit of upkeep, but ours was generally reliable and quite a lot of fun.
When I was younger I drempt of having a Provost bus or Beaver Marquis…
Nowadays I just miss ol’ Winny. xD
I’ve always wanted one, maybe one of the little Winnebago Braves, but have had no luck.
We had a 72’ Winnebago Brave just like this over a decade ago, them’s some family memories made in that thing. ^^
