MLP FIM is getting a proper ending, while EQG is ending prematurely(once a few more shorts have aired) they had plans for a Season 2 finale and Season 3 plans but Hasbro basically told them..in the words of President Trump..“YOU’RE FIRED!”

But Hasbro does not have a girl’s toy doll aside from EQG. From a marketing standpoint, that is reason enough to keep it going.
You do know Mattel made DC Superhero Girls and SheRa dolls due to them owning the HeMan franchise

No, toy sales did not impact this. Are they the reason we do not have a full TV series for EQG? Yeah.
But EQG still got like, 4 movies, 2 hour long specials, and 4 short series. Even today, it was never cancelled, and according to leaks, will be a stopgap for G5. Not mention receive a G5 reboot.
From a business and marketing perspective, toy sales do not matter very much on this franchise. Just cover the cost of manufacturing. Why? Because this is the only foray Hasbro has into the conventional doll market. Every dollar this makes is a dollar they have no other opportunity to make, and is a dollar Mattel, Barbie, Monster Dolls, etc…, do not make.
Also bear in mind Hasbro tends to cut series that do not perform enough very, very quickly. G2 got cut after about 2 years, LPS never got a 2nd season, etc…
This was just a mean-spirited post.
It is true, though. The EQG toys never sold well. Especially not being compared to My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic toys. There have been a few investor reports that spoke of it that EQG isn’t performing well. If EQG toys had sold well, there would have been much more of them.
