In this timeline he stepped down to spend more time with ember and his kids so ocellus took the throne to become the new queen of the changelings when it became difficult for thorax to rule the kingdom and take care of his and ember’s kids at the same time so thorax made the hardest decision to step down from the throne. So, no he isn’t anymore but the changelings still admire him. Ocellus on the the hand had asked sandbar to help her out. This is basically my head cannon for when thorax steps down and ocellus takes over.
