“We’re going to play a game, okay Cozibella?” Cosmo drew the feathered filly close, her scarred baby blue claws and talons growing close her into a sickened motherly grasp. Forwarding their pace as they slowly crouched behind a bramble bush, just outside the outskirts of Ponyville.
 
“Okay!” The yellow and pink fur and feathers of the childish mare’s coat fluffed up. Cosmo was never the type to play games, and if she did, she didn’t do them well. Maybe because she never had a friend to play them with when she was Cozy’s age.
 
“You’re going to take everything that I’ve ever taught you. How to talk to others, how to treat others, how to get Mommy the one thing she wants most in the world. And your going to use it to complete Mommy’s plans okay?” The alien whispered these words while baring her yellow colored teeth, in a sly and sharply toothed grin.
 
“Okay!” Cozy fluttered her small wings. Her mother told her that a day like this would come, when they’d play a game that they are going to both win, and after that she could do whatever and everything she wishes. She can have anything and everything she could dream of! She could even have a friend.
 
“And remember, what does Mommy want?” Cosmo asked, her pointer talon raised… The answers Cozy must give to these questions are imperative. If she hasn’t had the answers memorized, then there is no point in playing this “game”.
 
“Power over the ponies.”
 
“What does Cozy want?” She raised her middle claw.
 
“Friendship.”
 
“And why do we want friendship and power?” she raised her third claw.
 
“Because, friendship is power and power is friendship, and it must be used to erad-ic-ate all other’s magic!”
 
“Very good!” Cosmo laid a claw filled hand on the childish mare’s head before scruffing up her blue locks of hair. Cozy’s smile grew, it was rare for Cosmo to be in such a praise filled mood. When she was, it was the “bestest day ever!”
 
“Remember, what are the rules?”
 
“Don’t mention Mommy’s name,”
 
“Don’t be afraid to ask Mommy’s friend for help,”
 
“Don’t make any friends until the game is over,”
 
“And don’t blow it, no matter what!”
 
“Superb, Cozibella!” Cosmo praised her daughter.
 
“Now, don’t forget-“
 
“Mommy is always watching?”
 
Cosmo drew close, just to tap the muzzle of her daughter, “Always…”
 
A moment of silence became of the two, Cosmo adopted Cozy for this purpose, she was always meant to just be a pawn in Cosmo’s plans. She never intended to care so much for a member of the species she hated so much, now she couldn’t help but feel sorrowful to see her go. She was going to miss Cozy’s annoyingly sweet voice..
 
Cosmo let out a sharp breath, full of dread and hinted with joy that was covered by the small entanglements of sadness, “Go along now, make your Mommy proud!”
 
Cozy leaped forward, out of the prickly twigs from the bush, jumping and fluttering her wings all the way towards the village. The few years Cosmo and the little Pegasus had spent together flashed through her vision as she watched her go…
 
“Wait!” a shriek came from the back of Cosmo’s throat. It wasn’t intended to be so highly pitched, and the scream wasn’t even intended to happen. It just happened…
 
Cozy looked behind her, seeing her elder mother crouching behind a bush like a fool. When a fool was the farthest thing she thought of Cosmo.
 
“I love you.”
 
“Love you too, Mommy.”
