Well, I'm not the one who wrote it. I did think vous was odd, but it's my understanding that it is appropriate when addressing royalty (even if singular), so I can at least see how it wormed its way in.
...though yeah, the fact that it'splural and not properly gendered is something I can't really justify from any angle. Come to think of it, that's exactly how Google Translate phrases it when plugging in "you will be punished" (aside from making it punis, not puni), so I can't help but wonder if it was used here.
