As I don’t have brain damage, no, I don’t support it.
I’m sure there are people who would do stuff like that on their own accord, but it’s not a matter of the psyche, it’s hormones and how your brain processes them, so you can’t just make it go away.

Look man, if we’re gonna bring up Islamism into this we may as well drop the nukes now and just turn the entire comment section into a glass floor.
For changing sexuality, it may have to do with most efforts being associated withabusive or ineffective methods; whereas changing gender is considered to be “more acceptable” as it may not be as coercive as changing gender. Furthermore, many people consider gender to be “fluid”, as in refusing to identify themselves as males or females would be as freedom for them.
In Malaysia where I live, conversion therapy is being supportedby the government, as LGBTQ-ness is considered illegal under its Islamic laws. So the government views LGBTQ-ness as if it were a sickness that needs to be “cured”.
Well, if we’re gonna bring out the controversy, here’s a question: What is the difference between someone who feels they are the wrong sexuality and wishes to change it, and someone who feels they are the wrong gender and wishes to change it?
Also, to the uploader, @HorsesandMuchMOAR , what does being Malaysian have to do with conversion therapy?
Sometimes, many of these issues may revolve around how others treat them – such as bullying, violence, and || people driving LGBTQ people to suicide ||. Perhaps by doing so, they could stop further threats, bullying, and harassment.

“Well, they do this to get others to look at their issues” sounds a lot like “look how much of a snowflake I am” to me, not gonna lie.
Well, they do this to get others to look at their issues, or to make up for all the time lost in being bullied. If they instead blend in and do something else, they fear that they cannot express themselves freely and others will bully them. So they use these identities as their shields against further harassment.

It’s just how my country works, but let’s stop at there.
Besides, what do you think about conversion therapy (trying to make gays straight) – do you support it, or oppose it? And do you think it can work?
Edited because: The main topic is conversion therapy, that's all.

Acting out from behind an online person isn’t going to make people treat them better.

Edited because: As I've said earlier, I think it's a bullying prob.

I don’t get it – are you referring to “conversion magic”, or people using identities to protect themselves?
