Does having "keen" hearing allow you to pick out and understand quieter sounds in the midst of much louder sounds, or does it just uniformly make everything louder? It would help you hear quiet sounds in a quiet environment, certainly.
I've had people accuse me of having bad hearing back when I worked at Schlotzsky's, and they spoke so quietly and the ovens were so loud that I couldn't understand them

There are headphones now that actually use your cheekbones to conduct sound. Maybe this headset works similarly.
