The flag of the UK is more heavily associated with England, which is where it sounds like Oleander’s accent is from. You’re welcome to make your own edit to this image if you want, though.
Stereotypical? If they were gonna use stereotypes then Scottish is not the one for that. That’d be Welsh.
Also why is Oleander being given the british flag? Just occurred to me how stupid that is, when Scotland is in Britain, meaning She could have the same accent as Pom with that flag. She should be using the English flag instead.

This is correct. The Book of Lore (which is now considered non-canon) had Pom using Kiwi slang, but they didn’t have an actress capable of doing that accent, so they went with Scottish instead. Scottish is very fitting, almost stereotypical, so maybe that’s why they wanted to do NZ instead? Not sure. She’s cute either way.

I was about to ask how anyone could think she sounded anything but Scottish. Didn’t know there were any last minute changes like that. I feel a tad bad for my new zeland pal not getting a sheepy rep. The scottish already have Shrek as a mascot, they’re well off for reps.

New Zealand was the original plan (and it was used in the Book of Lore), but the voice actresses didn’t know that accent, so Scottish was used instead.
I didn’t know you made it! Thank you all the same. That’s why I uploaded my Scotland edit instead of the original.
(I thought the creators said that Pom had a New Zealand accent.)
