The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

Oh and Unicorn still features a lot of mecha porn and coolness while retaining UC’s awesome sci-fi, which is why it’s so popular at the moment.

00 is definitely not for the younger folks, it’s very politics heavy and has some complex story elements.
SEED is also not exactly a kids’ material, as it has a scene suggesting the protagonist having had an intercourse, and many pilots die more dramatically (during a unit’s explosion they often give you the cockpit view with them screaming in their last seconds). Not to mention how graphical Nicol’s death was.

Now the most recent AGE series was truly for kids, meant to introduce the new young generation to Gundam. It has its tragedies but it’s generally much lighter and easier to follow, with an art style that appeals to children.

Unicorn feels more “mature” than all the other Another Universe series because it’s set in Universal Century, the main timeline where the sci-fi aspect has always been approached seriously and documented in great details. AU series like 00 and SEED are less “realistic” and less thorough in explaining how things work. Instead they focus more on cool flashy mecha action, but they’re still meant for the same age group as UC series.

The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

00, Seed (recent stuff) have been for more of younger viewers. UC is back to a bit older audiences (with some connections to old series like Counter attack and Z, I think?)
They sure did invest good amount on the soundtrack. Some nice characters. (The author of the series have the tendency to make the captain of ship “bold?-nice” type of person)
