Let's be honest. We all have very limited perspectives and are just talking past each other. The point is that "I have a(n) <X group> friend" isn't the most substantive way to disprove that one is racist, and bringing it up like that way leads those being told so to question whether it's a genuine friendship or if you're just invoking tokenism.
