A map of Equestria and surrounding countries.
The world was designed by RainbowDoubleDash for his shared universe, the Lunaverse, which I greatly recommend reading.Thanks also to Ascension over on Cartographer’s Guild, whose tutorial I learned from.
For reference, this is part of a pair with a map of canon Equestria, this one. Both were made in 2012.
A thousand years is not an “interim”.
Ok. Fine. Lets roll with that: Guess what, the Crystal Empire is back so now all that unclaimed land is up for grabs. Let the Equestia vs Griffin Kingdoms war for land begin!
Vanished a thousand years back, came back into existence in the last few years, and the interim everyone was too nervous about the empty waste left when a nation popped out of existence to be too eager to probe too deeply into it. Going by what I remember about the story, anyway.
I play the EAW mod. The “Griffin Kingdoms” is an entirely separate continent.
I mentioned HOI4 because the geography of the map is unnatural (if Equestria is the size of the USA, that lake in the middle would be the size of Texas) and the borders are clearly designed to encourage military tensions. (Why is the Crystal Empire sandwiched between Equestria and the Griffin Kingdoms AND bracketed by unclaimed territory? You might as well write “Equestria vs Griffin war starts here”-on the map.)
I think the Equestria at War mod’s map is similar to this.
I liked comparing it to the Celestia version as well and seeing how each world reflected the personalty of the ruler.
The crossover fic he did is till one of my favorites.
