Once upon a time, in the magical land of Equestria, there were two regal sisters who ruled together and created harmony for all the land. To do this, the eldest used her unicorn powers to raise the sun at dawn; the younger brought out the moon to begin the night. Thus, the two sisters maintained balance for their kingdom and their subjects, all the different types of ponies.

Ever since Star Swirl the Bearded found Celestia and Luna and chose them to be the rulers of Equestria after it was founded a thousand years ago, they’ve proven to be the best princesses in the history of all ponydom. Together, they maintained harmony to the three pony tribes and defeated many dangerous threats with the mystical Elements of Harmony from the Tree of Harmony itself. However, when Luna gave into her jealousy towards Celestia, she became Nightmare Moon and was banished to the moon as thus. Since then, a new holiday came to be: the Summer Sun Celebration. This would take place on the longest day of the year, the commemoration of the anniversary of Princess Celestia’s first raising of the sun, and her battle to restore the sun to Equestria by imprisoning Nightmare Moon. After a millienium later, Celestia was ready to free her sister. Before releasing Nightmare Moon, she assigned her faithful student, Twilight Sparkle, to make friends, so that they could harness the Elements of Harmony and restore Luna. With the Mane Six’s success and after Twilight herself became a princess, the Summer Sun Celebration was now about the redemption of Princess Luna as well. Four moons went by, and after Princess Twilight Sparkle and her best friends help spread friendship and harmony (and defeated many enemies, both old and new), Celestia and Luna decided to retire from royalty, and gave the mantle to the Mane Six. To honor the Two Sisters on their last Summer Sun Celebration, Twilight changed the holiday’s name to the Festival of the Two Sisters. While Princess Twilight Sparkle rules Equestria with the same wisdom and a new teaching of friendship to all creatures, and uses a special amulet to move the sun and moon, everypony will never forget the Alicorn princesses from ages long ago.
 
Now I will admit, while working on my Celestia Day project, this came up at the last minute. I had an idea of using my vectors of the Two Sisters, but I strugged with the background (though I was aware that it would not be easy). It may not be as grand as I thought, but the idea did pop just recently.
