“Sooooooo boooooorrrrrrrred!”

“Pinkie, hush!” Twilight hollered before remembering she was in the middle of a library. She continued in a hushed tone as she scanned through the spines of each book, “I told you this won’t take long. It’ll just be another 10 minutes.”

“But you said that like 10 minutes ago,” Pinkie complained a bit more quietly, leaning her heavy body back in her creaky seat. “And that was after you said it’ll only be like five minutes. Ugh, do I really have to wait for you?”

“Of course. I need to check out a lot of resources for this essay I’m working on, and I’m going to need some help to carry them all,” the studious girl explained as she waddled her own plump body down the many columns of books. “Besides, you still owe me for eating all those chocolate-covered strawberries that Timber sent me for Valentine’s Day.”

“I thought they were for sharing,” Pinkie twiddled her thumbs in response.

“The card literally said ‘To Twilight, the girl with a big mind, a bigger heart, and the biggest appetite’.” Twilight rolled her eyes as she turned back towards Pinkie. “Now please be quiet. Maybe take a look around for a bit. You might find something interesting.”

“Fine,” Pinkie pouted like a child as she lifted herself off of her seat, careful not to lose her balance in the process.

Watching as her heavy-set friend waddled off into a different part of the library, Twilight wondered to herself if Pinkie seemed a bit low-energy these days. Granted, she knew she shouldn’t be one to judge. Twilight was never exactly a crackling fireball herself. In fact, at nearly 450 pounds, she was now more of an idle butterball than anything else.

Even then, ever since Pinkie started gaining weight again, the pep she had always brought with her has seemed a bit lacking lately…

…Or maybe Twilight was just overthinking again.

Shaking off these thoughts, she turned her attention back to the task at hand. Brow furrowed with a silent frustration, Twilight practically felt her eyes strain from having to read through the partly-faded texts of these outdated textbooks for what felt like hours.

“Ding-ding!” Pinkie spoke up from behind, causing Twilight to jump slightly. “It’s been 10 minutes now!”

Normally, this would be a nuisance, but at this point, she was actually a bit relieved to be interrupted. “Uh, sorry, Pinkie. I still haven’t found what I’m looking for. I just hate how all these books are starting to look the same to me.” As Twilight continued searching, her stomach decided to chime in with its own take on the matter. “And now I’m hungry again. Great.”

“Ooh, then let’s get something to eat!”

“I’d rather we didn’t,” Twilight said without even looking back at Pinkie. “I know it’s silly for me to start cutting back now, but I should at least wait until I can order a larger set of clothes before I let myself get carried away with eating so much. Plus, it’d probably be helpful if you cut back a little bit too.”

“What do you mean?” Pinkie asked, only partially paying attention to the conversation.

“Well, it’s just that you seem a bit sluggish lately, and I think the extra weight you’ve been putting on might be the cause of that. I’m just a little concerned about how you’ve suddenly started to-”

“Wait, wait, wait! You gotta hold still.”

“Hold still? For what?” Twilight finally peeked back to see what Pinkie was doing back there. As it turned out, she was using Twilight’s massively prominent rump as a makeshift bookshelf. “Pinkie!” Twilight spun around as a stack of over half a dozen books toppled down.

“Aw, I was going for a full dozen.”

“Pinkie, why on Earth would you-” Before she could scold her friend any further, Twilight suddenly cut herself off. “Oh, wait! These books might be exactly what I’m looking for! Perfect!.”

“Twilight, hush. You know we’re still in a library,” Pinkie whispered coyly.

@NeonGoThic
I see, but it WAS a good idea to put down how many pounds they are in the image at the end of the image story. :)

it said Pinkie was 476 pounds, but it then said she was 450.

what’s up with that?

I wouldn’t worry about Rarity, she’ll be fine.
And don’t look too deeply into Twilight’s book problem here. She’s gonna have some other stuff to deal with.

Perhaps we’ll see the first step toward Sunsetsparkle?

Pinkie lacking energy I get, probably harder to bounce around like that…but now all books are looking the same to Twilight…and Sunset and Rarity are basically slaves to their appetites…

All I’m saying is, this whole thing might get disturbing if it turns out the weight gain affects people’s mental faculties.
