No, Shining Armor isn’t dead I promise
 
This takes place before Twilight and Sombra make the “peace treaty” and also before Flurry Heart was ever conceived. Sombra had returned to take over once again, and of course- Shining being Shining, tried to defend the place… before getting the shit beat outta him.
 
At this very moment, something peculiar happens

“SHINING!” Cadance shrieked, running up and collapsing next to her wounded and unconscious husband. She stroked his bangs aside, soft whimpers escaping her as she watched the blood trickle down his face and body, bruises scattered everywhere on him. As she did so, the dark usurper king stood near them, back turned to the two.
 
“Foolish boy” he growled at her, not even glancing at them. “He should have known his place. He did not stand a chance.”
 
At this, Cadance felt snarls rumble her throat, eyebrows furrowing as she looked up at Sombra with tired, tear filled eyes. The Malice, now knowing what was about to come, peeled away from Sombra’s mind for a mere couple of seconds so the real stallion underneath could hear… and be full of guilt. Weakened. Easier to control. That’s what the true tyrant wanted.
 
“Y-You…” Cadance began as Sombra, now with his normal eyes, peered back at her- not fully comprehending where he was or who these people were. All he knew was that one was sneering at him and that there was a strong scent of blood that rose from the stallion under her gentle arms.
 
“You monster…” She finished, and it finally clicked in Sombra’s head. He hurt this stranger. Why?
 
As expected, the guilt began to flood Sombra’s mind as he turned his head way, before The Malice once again took over- eyes glowing that sickly green and unsettling purple once again…
 
This job was just too easy~
