made her cry…by calling her a doofus and yelling at her.
now, sure Gilda had no reason to get so pissed at her, but Fluttershy overreacted as well(unless Fluttershy’s family was butchered by a Dovahkiin…).
What Disqord did to her was MUCH WORSE.
So, Gilda may be a bitch but she doesn’t deserve 9\10s of all the hate she gets.

Pinkie could have just confronted her about that or inform Dash, also she may have noticed that it wasn’t working at all.
Pricklepin

You forgot “Made Fluttershy cry”

Isn’t that punishable by death?

Oh, and the party was Pinkie’s way of trying to improve Gilda’s bad attitude. The closest to “plotting” was actually on Dash’s part, as SHE set all the pranks up.

Don’t forget, that same person who did the eternal darkness tried to kill the bipolar brat at least twice. Granted, trying to drop a flying creature off a cliff is not an effective means of killing them, but the intent was there.

Gilda’s ‘crimes’
-stealing an apple;
-being a bitch toward two of the Mane 6(one of the two however had it coming big time);
-trying to spend some time with a friend she probably didn’t meet in years, thus preventing Pinkie from hanging out with someone she hangs out with on a daily basis.

yeah, attempting a coup d’etat and trying to plunge the world into eternal darkness(twice) because people didn’t pay you the attention you demanded is one thing; twisting the world into a hellish crapsaccharine chaos(twice), subjecting people to body horror, psychologically crushing and brainwashing people for shit and giggles is one thing; leading aggressive warfare, leaving a person to die in a cave while posing as her and draining her loved ones’s life force is one thing; enslaving and cursing an entire kingdom is one thing; but CALLING THE BIPOLAR LITTLE BRAT A ‘DOOFUS’ AND YELLING AT HER? that’s where we draw the line!

The lesson learned here, kids, is that Pinkie giveth and Pinkie taketh away

Pinkie didn’t hate Gilda. She hated what Gilda did (yell at Fluttershy was the irredeemable act) and threw a party to improve her attitude. It didn’t work.
Background Pony #609A
People should keep in mind that Gilda is a predatory creature who would normally eat ponies. Visiting Ponyville probably puts a lot of stress on her. And Pinkie is damn annoying.
Background Pony #2736
Actually, Gilda is more rude than Cranky in every way.

When telling Pinkie to buzz off Cranky just uses words, while Gilda bullies her. Cranky also has a reason to be mad with Pinkie, (telling everypony he’s bald and ruining a prized possession) while Gilda is just mean to anyone she meets. In the climax of their episodes, Cranky respects Pinkie and accepts her friendship, while Gilda assaults Pinkie and causes Rainbow Dash to turn on her.

tl;dr - Gilda deserved what she got.

Not a Llama - Happy April Fools Day!

I would like to see how Pinkie would deal with someone who fakes happiness to shroud depression. and actually fakes it well to the point until they break down and tell Pinkie their story.

Must admit that cranky got a pretty bad experience from his first meeting with pinkie that explain his rude attitude toward her, he didn’t act rude with others ponies leaving aside his distant attitude.

Eh, when the first episode includes a genocidal, narcissistic usurper as a sympathetic character, while the heroes routinely do things that cause massive property damage and endangerment of sentient life and all it’s treated as is wacky hijinks, I hate how being a jackass is what the measurement of being irredeemable is for this fandom.

Great idea for an episode, but I don’t think they’d go for it. With the whole “Discord Redemption” thing behind them, it would kinda make them look like blazing hypocrites. Still, the only other blazing hypocritical moral got sidestepped pretty effectively with humor, so it could be done.

Did I not just say in my comment that she was? I’m not excusing Gilda for anything, I’m just pointing out that characters have done worse than her and been redeemed in show and forgiven in fandom. Seriously, the only character that gets more desproportionate hate and overblown demonization is Blueblood.

They should do an episode where the moral is something along the lines of “Some people just aren’t going to like you no matter what and it would be in the best interest to the both of you to leave them alone.”

The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

These episodes are why I don’t care all that much for Pinkie. I’ve had people relentlessly butt into my affairs like she did in these episodes, and it is infuriating. While cartoon contrivance (which I do accept as something ever present in the medium) makes it all justified, I still feel like someone should really make a point that her way of doing things will upset people and she needs to be more considerate. While “Friend in Deed” tried to do that, it still felt bumbled by how Pinkie was even more callous to Cranky then she was to Gilda, and it seemed like they tried to breeze over that part instead of empathizing the lesson Pinkie needed to learn.

I’d like to see a Season 4 episode where they run this formula again, but it completely backfires and portrays Pinkie as completely wrong. Just my two cents.

Gilda lashed out at anyone who could potentially cut her time with Rainbow by even the tiniest iota. She couldn’t accept that Rainbow had new friends that lived in her area that she could hang out with even when Gilda wasn’t around. She wanted Rainbow Dash to herself, which was selfish. She lied about how she treated others and in general acted like a bully.

Pinkie didn’t plot against her, she only thought a party would change her actions, yeah, the episode really made it seem she was being sarcastic with Gild and tried to bust her but later in the series you can easily see Pinkie isn’t that smart.
